Kelly’s Story

Kelly is a Manchester based wedding photographer that has always had a passion for creativity from a young age. Her creative career began after completing a BA Hons in 3D Design at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2002 where she specialised in furniture design. She then went on to complete a PGCE in Design and Technology which she taught for 12 years at Sale Grammar School.

Still wanting to expand her artistic flair she began to paint bold, colourful abstract canvases and commissions started to come in. After about 3 years of painting she found her old film SLR camera from back in her college days and that’s where her love of photography started. Kellys full time photography started with studio work photographing children and newborns. She soon decided to expand to outdoor location photoshoots and then one day a friend asked if she could photograph her wedding... Kelly was instantly hooked. Capturing real emotions and documenting weddings was where she wanted to focus her creativity.

In 2020, when the Covid19 pandemic started, suddenly overnight all weddings were cancelled. With literally no income for the foreseeable future she decided to set out and challenge herself to use her cameras and creativity on her ‘daily hour of exercise’ and began to capture the quiet cities, towns and villages of Greater Manchester.

Other Things Kelly Loves

Family

We 2/5ths of us love walking and hiking the other 3/5ths get dragged up hills regardless. As a fully self employed family we try and fit as many days out in were we can. Gary (my fiancee is a floorfitter so if you are need of some flooring have a nosey here

Training

I train every morning during the week straight after school drop off….I absolutely blast it for an hour and it sets me up for the whole day! I do it for my mental health and of course so I can eat what I like! Plus our gym is super social and I love the community we have there at Trafford Fit

I absolutely love it, I’m very competitive so you’ll often find me at the local gym competitions when I’m not out photographing around Manchester!

Spiders

I love them!

Whats not to love, those furry cute legs and gorgeous 8 big eyes! I had this one for a while roaming around the house catching all the dirty flies but not sure where he has gone now :( I miss him helping out with my editing as you can see here.

I tried to get Toby to love them too… and he did for a while until somebody told him they were scary and now he’s not a fan :(
